Trap Tracker – Research Software

About Trap Tracker

Trap Tracker is a research software platform developed by the Conservation AI Research Group at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU). It comprises:

  • Trap Tracker Desktop – a desktop application for uploading and processing camera-trap images and videos using AI-based object detection models.
  • Trap Tracker Real-Time Cameras – an application that processes images sent via email from 3G/4G camera traps triggered by passive infrared (PIR) sensors, applies species detection, and optionally issues automated alert notifications.

Trap Tracker is provided free of charge for non-commercial research, conservation, and educational use.
