Trap Tracker collects minimal user information solely for research impact and usage monitoring:
- Name or username
- Email address
- Encrypted password credentials
- Application usage metrics (e.g. downloads, logins)
Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, or access:
- Camera-trap images or videos
- Email contents or attachments
- Location data
- Personal data about subjects captured in images
All image processing occurs locally on the user’s machine.
Purpose of Data Collection
User data is used only to:
- Manage access to the software
- Quantify research impact (e.g. usage statistics)
- Support reporting to funders and the University
Data Storage and Security
- Credentials are securely stored and encrypted
- No images or sensitive data are transmitted or retained
- Data is not shared with third parties
User Rights
Users may request access to or deletion of their account data by contacting the project team.
